Fairly quiet area, very central location next to central train station, old town as well as the Fjordline harbor. For tea or coffee visit Solros nearby. Large and delicious breakfast selection for all tastes with fresh products and hot dishes and historic atmosphere.
Beds were a bit too soft.

the reception staff and bar staff were wonderfully helpful - their english was excellent the atmosphere in the hotel was very relaxed, the free tea and coffee 24 hours, in the lounge was very sociable the breakfast was very good
we recently stayed in vienna and the cost of the hotel in bergen was much higher, rather like everything is in norway - which was disappointing - as we really liked norway itself our only problem with the hotel was that the shower - in the two rooms we stayed in - was of such a design that the whole bathroom flooded each time you used it.

I liked everything! The room was great and clean, the building is really pretty (old-style) and the location is perfect. There was also free tea&coffee at the lobby (which is an amazing present in such an expensive city). The staff was amazing, helping, assisting and apoke perfect English!

This hotel has a great hisory and location. It was perfect for exploring Bergan and connecting with the Hurtugrute cruise up the coast. The lounge was convenient and we enjoyed the fruit and refreshments provided. Breakfast was well-organizedand convenient. The room was quiet and andclean. The complementary bus to the ship picked us up outside the hotel at 6pm and took us to the ship. ,.
We sopoke to three people at reception about the pickup spot for the cruise and each had adifferent answer. Luckily after exploringthe first two possiblities, we founfd the bus at the spot opposite where the third person directed us.

This hotel is a total rip-off. We travel a lot and we have never felt more disappointed as this time with our choice. We have seen the bad reviews, however in spite of these we have decided to stay here just because it was close to the railways station… so that we did not have to get up very early in the morning. But, we did not sleep the entire night!!! The room is scabby and smelly; the furniture and the bathroom is from grandma’s times. To pay so much, for this scam it was very frustrating. Our advice: stay in another hotel and go by taxi to the railway station, anyways Bergen is not a big city so the taxi should not cost a fortune.

Excellent location right next to the train station and close to the city centre. There is an old charm and cosy feel to this hotel and the room was lovely.
One reason why we chose this hotel was for the free bike hire, but upon arrival, there is only actually one bike available, which was disappointing. Tea/Coffee making facilities were in the bar and often ran out of hot water/milk and staff appeared to be a little impatient when asking if this can be topped up.

The Hotel has a very nice whisky bar. The breakfast room is in grand European style. You can feel the history of this hotel and its connection to the railroad (the train station is just across the road). Very good for a relaxing weekend break.

Staffs at reception are very friendly and cheerful - 5 stars. Location is excellent for travelling around the town and tour sites.
need improvements on cleanliness. Example: Food & drink from last tenant left over in the frig. which was not checked and not cleaned; dirty socks and empty bottles were found on the balcony. Thus we requested to change room from 2nd floor to the one on 5th floor.

It was across the street from the train station and the bus station was just on the other side of the trains. Easy walk to the water front. Restored old old building with beautiful dark woodwork throughout. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was great.
You could hear some voices through the walls from the neighboring rooms.

Perfect for train travelers
The room was huge, comfortable with many windows on two sides. We were upgraded to the Admunsen room and the views were fine with the train station right in front.
I have to say it isn't exactly inexpensive for what we got, but still,, it was worth it.

Location! Right in front of train station.
We asked for room that was away from train station. They arranged us to a handicap room by just telling us it is a room facing back yard. By just taking a shower, the whole toilet is all wet. Which i totally dislike about handicap room. Staff should have given us an option before putting us to that room.
